The advent of Euro-IV emission compliant engines at the start of 2008, and the new Euro-V specification to be implemented during 2009, placed increased pressure on what Diesel Engine Lubricants were expected to achieve.

Various methods of after exhaust emission reduction systems and engine redesign meant that the lubricant had to do much more than previous Diesel Lubricants.

The situation was exacerbated by the fact that no uniform method of emission control was adopted by the various Diesel Engine Manufacturers.

To meet this challenge, Atlantic Lubricants worked closely with major US based additive companies and base oil manufacturers to produce our outstanding EURO DIESEL V 15W-40CJ-4/SM.
